The class starts with a brief history lesson, where the instructor explains how masks are made and the role they played in the Venetian history.

Your instructor will wait for you at the Stop Giudecca Palanca. The course will start at about 10 AM. The masks and the items are unique and entirely hand made, created from a form of clay and gradually handcrafted with paper, water and glue, decorated and finished piece by piece.

The course consists in the decoration of a rough mask which is then finished with old techniques of Venetian “mascherai” . The course is held in the laboratory of a 1400 cloister. At the end of the course you will be able to take you own creation at home.
