Day 1: WELCOME TO MILAN AND TRANSFER TO TURIN

Arrival at Milano Malpensa airport and private transfer for Turin. Free time at leisure.

Day 2: DISCOVER TURIN BY FOOT AND FOOD TASTING

 

Meet the guide at the hotel’s lobby and discover The Royal City of Turin, undoubtedly Italy’s best kept secret.

However, it is no longer stereotyped merely as a center of great industry or as the militaristic and unrefined base from which the late nineteenth-century Savoy dynasty unified the Italian peninsula.  Indeed, after much careful restoration, the city is now considered one of most elegant and beautiful in Europe. It was of no coincidence that the most refined of the 1800 Grand Tourists often started their trip through the Italian peninsular in Turin.

Some of the sites included in the tour are: Piazza Castello, Piazza Carignano,

Piazza San Carlo with their 1600 and 1700 architecture, the Royal Palace

(no admission), Holy Shroud chapel (no admission), Palazzo Madama

(no admission), Palazzo Carignano (no admission).

The tour ends with a lush, cheese, salami and sweet tasting, paired with wine and water

at a historic cheese store nestled in the oldest, city quarter.

Day 3: EGYPTIAN MUSEUM GUIDED TOUR

Meet the guide at the hotel’s lobby (centrally located) and discover one of the most important museums in the world.

The tour will take you to explore the world´s second largest collection of Egyptian artifacts in the world after Cairo, Egypt: The Museo Egizio or Egyptian Museum of Torino, is the world’s oldest Egyptian museum; it was founded in 1824 and it is

dedicated exclusively to ancient Egyptian culture and art. The museum’s collection has been the subject of interest for some of history’s most important scholars, for instance Jean-Francois Champollion, decipherer of the Rosetta Stone. To such is attributed the

fact that Turin is considered to be the city where Egyptology began.

The tour will last about 3 hours.

Day 4: VENARIA REALE AND THE HUNTING RESIDENCE OF STUPINIGI FAMILY

Visit the Royal Palace of Venaria Reale. You’ll discover habits, customs and usages of the court life of the 17^th and 18^th centuries.

The Reggia di Venaria is one of the UNESCO sites in the Turin area. After the visit you’ll be transferred to another great location called The hunting residence of Stupinigi.

Stupinigi was the preferred building to be used for celebrations and dynastic weddings.

Tranfer to your hotel in Langhe area.

Dinner on your own and overnight in 5* hotel.

Day 5: TRUFFLE HUNTING LANGHE AREA

Meet your private driver at the hotel’s lobby and private transfer to Castigliole d’Asti where you’ll meet your truffle guide.

If you are a truffle lover this is the right place for you. The Alba truffle is the most expensive food in the world. It grows wild and cannot be cultivated.

The truffle hunting will start with a short explanation of the local traditions and the environment. During the truffle hunting you will see how the search and discovery of the black or white truffle works, like the truffle hunting dog  the territory with its nose and when it finds a truffle under the ground, it begins to dig.

Return back to the House of the Trifolau (truffle hunter) where you’ll have the possibility to visit his house: picking item, furniture, images and memories of the past.

The tour will end with a truffle tasting and wine.  Before returning to your hotel you’ll have a lunch reservation in a typical restaurant

Day 6: LUXURY BAROLO AND BARBARESCO WINE EXPERIENCE

The Piedmont is the fine wines and truffle land. You’ll visit ones of the most important wineries in the area.

Private transfer to Barbaresco where you’ll visit the first winery and you’ll taste a selection of the best 4 Barbaresco wines. You’ll admire the old cellars and you’ll receive explanation about the Nebbiolo grapes, which are ideal for this amazing wine.

After the tasting you’ll be transferred to another important town: Barolo.

You’ll visit the cellars where the Barolo wine is aged and you’ll enjoy a generous wine tasting comparing different types of Barolo aged in large barrels.

It will follow a typical Piedmont lunch.

Transfer back to you hotel.

Day 7: COOKING COURSE IN ALBA  

In this unique cooking class near the charming city of Alba (also known globally as being the Italian capital city of the sought-after black and white truffles), you’ll learn how to create delicious Piemontese favorites while your English-speaking expert local chef inspires you with his genuine passion for these regional specialties.
During this private cooking lesson, located in a restored castle in a small typical Piemontese town, your private chef will teach you why his dishes are compared to a piece of symphonic music.  You will cook a traditional 4-course meal guided in a modern kitchen infused with the aromas and flavors of Italian cuisine.
Following this, enjoy your fantastic meal in the elegant dining room with beautiful decor and paired with delicious local wines.
