ORVIETO AND WINE
Orvieto is one of the most beautiful towns in Umbria region and is mostly known for its Duomo (Orvieto Cathedral).
The Duomo is considered one of the most architecturally important in Europe with its Etruscan roots and it has a beautiful façade.
During the tour you will walk through Orvieto’s charming, narrow alleys and small squares.
You will be impressed also by the 1200 caves under the town of Oriveto. Each one of them is man-made, some dating back as far as the Etruscans, and each has been put to good use.
After 3 hours of tour you will be transfer to the countryside where you’ll visit an important winery. The experience includes a visit to the modern area of the Estate, a walk through the vineyards into the ancient caves, where our sparkling wine traditional method is made and the French oak barrels are kept. After the guided tour you’ll taste 3 different types of wine, cold cuts, sausages, salami, cheeses, bruschetta and oil olive.
Transfer back to Perugia at the end of the tour.
