Rich in architectural beauties such as ancient palaces and churches, the city is surrounded by a megalithic city wall, which is still preserved in some parts today. Milazzo is best known for its castle which is the considered the Upper Milazzo. In lower Milazzo, the most recent part the town there is a promenade along the seafront to the east of the center.
