BORROMEAN ISLANDS FULL DAY TRIP
The Borromean Islands are a group of 4 islands located in the beautiful Lake Maggiore. Their name comes from Borromeo Family, Italian aristocrats who acquired these islands centuries ago and conceived the architecture, the villas and all the other beauties you can still admire today.
The first stop will be Isola Madre (Mother Island) who is the largest one. It houses a lush English-style garden where you’ll have a nice stroll among exotic plants, citrus plants, palms, magnolias, camellias etc and also a 16th century Renaissance Villa.
Then the boat will take you to Isola dei Pescatori (Fishermen’s Island) where you’ll have also a stop for lunch. This island is a picturesque fishing village with a few local families who leave here.
We will sail towards the last Island, Isola Bella (Beautiful Island) where you’ll discover the sumptuous Borromeo Mansio – Palazzo Borromeo and its amazing gardens.
